PSYCHOLOGICAL & PSYCHOEDUCATIONAL ASSESSMENT
Psychological testing is used to assess for the presence of psychological issues that may be impacting personal, academic, and/or social functioning. Evaluations can help families better understand the factors contributing to their child's clinical presentation and to assist parents, as well as service providers (i.e., pediatricians, psychiatrists, teachers, and other professionals) in developing a treatment plan that is specific to each child's unique support needs.

After the intake session, your provider will determine what tests need to be done and provide an estimation of the timeline for testing. Comprehensive evaluation is an involved process that typically consists of 4-8 hours of face to face testing, clinical interviews with parents, input from teachers, school observation (if indicated), behavioral questionnaires, and a review of relevant records. The extensive testing battery allows us to evaluate for many common childhood and adolescent concerns/questions, including, but not limited to:
-
Attention problems (ADHD)
-
Intellectual strengths and weaknesses
-
Learning differences (e.g., Specific Learning Disorder in Reading (dyslexia), Math (dyscalculia), and/or Written Expression (dysgraphia)
-
Mood challenges (e.g., anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder)
-
Social/communication and Autism Spectrum
-
Behavioral challenges
-
Emerging personality patterns
-
Early career exploration

When testing is complete, your provider will score and analyze the material and write a report based on the results. Assessment results will be discussed during a 1-2 hour feedback session.
